Direct the water that runs off your roof to lawns and gardens rather than to driveways or other impervious surfaces. this will reduce runoff and in winter, will help reduce ice buildup in walking areas. If you collect roof water for later use around the yard, be sure to keep it in a mosquito-proof container.
